THE VINEYARDS

Our vineyards are rooted in the renowned terroir of Chianti Classico, where southeastern to southwestern exposure provides abundant sunlight and ideal growing conditions for every vintage.

Planted with Sangiovese and Merlot, our vines average 20 years of age and are cultivated at a density of 6,000 vines per hectare using the low spurred cordon training system. Every vineyard is thoughtfully managed to express the character, balance, and authenticity of the land.

The artwork featured on three of our wine labels pays tribute to the estate's three distinct vineyard plots. Each label tells the story of its unique terroir, celebrating the landscapes and character that shape every bottle.

Our vineyards range from 430 to 600 meters above sea level, among the highest in Chianti Classico, where cool nights help preserve freshness and aromatic complexity.

The Soil

The soil is composed primarily of “Macigno Toscano” or Tuscan boulders which originate from a mixture of sandstone with a significant percentage of sandy stratification and completed by equal percentages of lime and clay.

The climatic position of this type of high and steep hill is also favored by the presence of the forest that surrounds the estate. The vineyards benefit from the air flow and excellent natural drainage. During the summer the heat is never excessive.

Depending on the year, the harvest takes place from early September to mid-October, and is done exclusively by hand.

VINEYARD PARCELS

V1. THE CHESTNUT VINEYARD

South-facing on the highest ridge of the estate’s vineyards, up to an altitude of 600 meters above sea level; deep and mostly sandy soil, sheltered from cold winds.

V2. THE HEATHER VINEYARD

Flat with an elevation of 550 meters above sea level; the rocky and deep earth provides a particular balance for the right fertility of the soil.

V3. THE ROSEMARY VINEYARD

Flat with an elevation of 550 meters above sea level; the rocky and deep earth provides a particular balance for the right fertility of the soil

V4. THE OAK VINEYARD

A lot nestled in the woods. The soil is a darker color with influences of fertility from the forest.

V5. THE ZENITH VINEYARD (or CHERRY)

Vineyard with maximum exposure, extremely sunny, the largest among those planted with Sangiovese, and the most panoramic. The soil transitions from deep and fertile on the sides to the pure rocky sandstone in the center.

V6. THE CLEMATIS VINEYARD

On the steep ridge facing south-east, the terrain is rocky sandstone higher up and becomes more sandy at the bottom. The vineyard is sheltered from the north wind and influenced by the sirocco wind.

V7. THE FIELD MAPLE VINEYARD

Vineyard “cavalcapoggio” or contour plowed, the only remaining vineyard that had this orientation, sunny, on the plateau of the Corticelle. Soil with the presence of rock and stones but a balanced mixture.

V8. THE HEROIC VINEYARD

On an extreme incline, it is heroic for its direction. Soil with a significant presence of rock and stones but balanced in mixture. Southern exposure shelters it from cold winds.

The Philosophy

Respect for the land guides everything we do. Our 100% organic vineyards are cultivated to preserve the natural biodiversity and rich soils of Chianti Classico, allowing each vine to thrive.

At elevations of 430–600 meters, every grape is handpicked at peak ripeness. Fruit from all eight vineyard plots comes together in every bottle, expressing the balance, character, and authenticity of our unique terroir.
